Youth Diversion Project Leader

Essential Skills and Experience

The successful applicants will have the following requirements;

  • A professionally endorsed degree in Youth Work or other relevant subject i.e. Social Work, Social Care, Social Studies, Justice
  • 5 years of experience working with young people with fewer opportunities in a youth work setting
  • Experience of managing and supervising staff and/or a Level 6 or higher qualification in Project Management / Leadership
  • Experience of carrying out the role of ‘Mandated Person’ in a Youth Work environment.
  • Experience managing a budget
  • Exposure to and understanding of youth diversion work, as well as experience working with young people from residential services and minority ethnic groups

Bradóg Youth Diversion Project focuses on preventing young people in Dublin’s North West Inner City from engaging in anti-social or criminal behaviour. We provide activities that promote personal, social, and professional development, as well as civic responsibility and long-term employability prospects. Our target group includes young people aged 12-17 who are at the age of criminal responsibility and at-risk 8-11-year-olds referred by Juvenile Liaison Officers or other community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Leader, in collaboration with the Bradóg Board of Management, will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Lead the development of youth justice programmes.
  • Foster a positive culture, manage HR, oversee recruitment, support team development, and address performance and conflict for a productive work environment.
  • Manage project plans and budgets effectively.
  • Prepare annual reports and funding applications.
  • Maintain an appropriate database system.
  • Advocate for best practices in youth diversion work.
  • Foster a positive work culture and support staff well-being.
  • Attend Board of Management meetings and record minutes.
  • Supervise financial and budgetary requirements.
  • Collaborate on work plans and budgets with the Board of Management.
  • Inform the Board of Management about project issues and report on program progress.
